Nice MontBlanc Meisterstück No. 149 fountain pen,
14 karat Medium two-tone nib,
mid-80s production
- No Reserve -
Up for auction is a nice Mont Blanc Meisterstueck No. 149 fountain pen produced in the mid 1980s. The MontBlanc 149 is the top-of-the-line and largest pen that Mont Blanc makes. It has a wonderful and huge two-tone 14 karat gold Medium nib. This style of two-tone nib on the mid-80s 149s are no longer made. The pen has a slotted clear ink window and has MontBlanc Meisterstuck No. 149 around the middle cap band and Germany stamped on the clip band.
The pen fills and writes wonderfully and the filler knob turns easily. It is in near mint condition with no signs of wear. I filled it and wrote with it a couple of times, then it was flushed with distilled water and put into storage until now. There are no cracks or hairlines in the cap and it posts and caps nicely. This is a large pen and measures 5 3/4 inches capped and 6 5/8 inches posted and is about a 5/8 inch in diameter.
Check out all the photos and you can even supersize them to get more detail. This is a really nice pen in excellent condition. If you've never written with a 149, then you're missing out. Every MontBlanc collector should have at least one.
Note: in some of the photos, you can see what looks like a thin white line in the body of the pen. This is only a reflection of my camera. There are no marks or scratches on the pen.
Unfortunately, I do not have the original box or papers for this pen. I've tried to find them but since I've had this pen for 20+ years, I'm afraid the box and papers are long gone.
This
pen is from my personal collection and was purchased by me in the late-80s from an authorized MontBlanc dealer in Los Angeles and is guaranteed 100% authentic. I've been an avid collector of MontBlanc pens for almost 30 years and I'm sure you'll enjoy this fine pen. If you have any questions, feel
free to contact me. I've tried to describe the pen as best I could, and if anyone knows more about them than I or if some of my information is incorrect, please let me know.

number of negative feedbacks, I reserve the right to possibly cancel
your bid. If you have any questions, please e-mail me through the eBay

International bidders must e-mail me first before bidding. I reserve the right to not accept an international bid. No sales to Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, or Mexico.
Domestic Shipping
I will put the item in the mail to you within 5 business days of the auction ending. I travel frequently for my job and so it may take me a few days to get it in the mail if I'm out of town when the auction ends. Shipping is a $12.95 for USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail within the Continental United States and it should reach most places within 3 business days. I include delivery confirmation (at my expense) to protect us both. Insurance is extra and is required (it protects both buyer and seller).
International Shipping
International shipping will, of course, be more expensive and there are also the issues of taxes, duties or other import fees for International buyers that should be taken into consideration. International shipping can range anywhere from $35 up to $90 or even more depending on the country as well as the final auction selling price. The US Postal Service has limits on the amount of insurance available on some services and for high dollar auctions, this may require a more expensive method of shipping. Some countries prohibit high value merchandise being imported without having an Import/Export license (which I don't have). FedEx, DHL and UPS International shipping is also available for International bidders but they usually cost over $110, but, they also have limits on the amount of insurance available. Insurance costs extra and is required for International bidders. The best thing to do is contact me before you bid for a shipping quote.
Please note - I will not put a lower dollar amount on the Customs form than what the pen sells for, nor will I mark it as a Gift. Please don't even ask.
Once the item has been mailed, it is outside of my control and therefore I can't be responsible for what may happen to the item during shipment.
Have fun bidding!
