In 2002 Parker released a special edition commemorating 60 years since the original Parker “51” was launched in 1942. The special edition has the Empire State (or “icicle”) cap with diamond clip of the original but with a modern mechanism and converter for use with both bottled ink and cartridges. It was released in two finishes, black and vista blue, and is no longer available. This pen is the black model with very striking silver and vermeil (gold plated silver) cap and a fine nib. It has not been used, is in mint condition and is complete with the presentation mock-crocodile case, reproducing the case from the 1950s, papers and outer box.
This is a glorious pen both for daily use and for a collector.
