NO RESERVE !!!
Beautiful Navy Blue & White & White "Drunkard's Path" Antique Quilt
This is one more quilt that came from the estate near here in Strasburg, Ohio. I was told it was probably made in the 1920's or 30's. White & Navy Blue with tiny white stars fabric.
This quilt is in wonderful condition ~ It has been gently handled. I believe the border has been replaced, a nice color match & stitching. Every piece has been hand-stitched & of course, it was quilted by hand. It also has been reinforced by a machine. see pictures 2 & 3.
There is much more work in this quilt than it first appears. There is piecing not only of the purple fabric but also of the white that surround the "path" of blue. So in other words, The blue fabric was not the only fabric that was appliqued to the front. The smallest piece id about 2". Then, there is much more quilting than is usual in this quilt.
I took close up pictures so you can get a good look at the only stain I found stain, the piecing, border (one minor tear near the border, picture 5), & quilting.
The fabric feels soft but still has that crispy new feel to it! I count 7 stitches per inch.
This wonderful vintage quilt measures 78" x 66"
A nice addition to your quilt collection!
Please take a look at my other items up for bid. I will be listing several other quilts this week but there many other very nice vintage items & antiques for you to see. Thanks for looking & have a great week! Lori
