Here's a rare find. I believe this is one of the first trumpets Getzen ever made. This is a Getzen #90 brass trumpet. The serial number is 4474 which, as I understand, puts the date of manufacture in the late 1940's. On the bell it reads, "#90 Made By Getzen Elkhorn, Wis." Well built, it has; nice action, good valves, free moving tuning slides, original finish and no case. It has a ding here and there and the bell could a little reshaping. About a foot down from the bell it has a crinkle and the spit valve going into the #3 valve is missing. (see pics) That said, this horn sounds nice. Since whoever buys this trumpet will probably be a collector/advanced player, I'm sure you'll want to have your tech go over it to get in tip-top shape. No question, a skilled hand could make it sing. Ok, I'm not a music store. Looking for vintage instruments and getting them into the hands of people who'll appreciate them is a hobby of mine. I've never come across one of these. If you're reading this, then you realize how prized these horns are. You'll be proud to own it. Oh, though it's a #90, it's not the "Super Deluxe 90" with the copper band around the bell.
