Up for your consideration is this chain of hand-carved ivory links.
This is from the Seward Peninsula area of Alaska. It was given to us 25 years ago by a Yupik man, from his private collection. It was carved at least 75 years ago and is in full compliance with eBay rules.
These seamless hand-carved chains are very rare. The chain measures about 15" long, with each carved link about 3/4" long and 1/4" wide (there is variation in these sizes, as each is hand-carved).
Condition: There are two horse-shoe shaped links hanging from the chain, each with a removable ivory peg at the bottom. These once held charms, which are no longer there. Otherwise the chain is complete and undamaged. The ivory shows the patina that true ivory gets with age.
Shipping is FREE. Insurance ($5.00) is optional but highly recommended. This can only be shipped within the United States.
Please pay, or contact me with your method of payment, within three days of the close of auction. Please email with any questions. Thank you for looking!
