I have been clearing out a portion of my very large badge collection (see my other current and future listings.) This is one of my current offerings.
This particular piece seems to be NOS (new old stock). I have examined it very closely and cannot find any defects, scratches or dings anywhere. I really think that it was NEVER worn in the line of duty. The words, "Patrolman Police" and number "2214" are super clear and legible. The detail of the center seal is also complete. Specifically, the center seal shows the old CTA logo with "Metropolitan Transit" bannered over "CTA". The back of the badge has the original sturdy clasp and bares the markings from the manufacturer "V.H.B."
The patch that is included in this auction is the same vintage as the badge. This was the style used before CTA put the red border on their logo. It is also in great condition and looks like it has never been sewn onto a garment. It is in great condition, has no defects, stains or creases.
