When I took this out of the case to photograph it I found the pictured poem under the tintype gold case. It is signed as shown, Milton Fries. The other note pictured was in the case. Out of the same estate as the other picture I have listed. Case front is separated from back. I will let you fix that. Loop & hook closure is still intact. Lightly tinted as shown. This gentleman is mentioned in the book HISTORY OF THE NINTH REGIMENT ILLINOIS CAVALRY as enlisting on Sept 1 1861 and being promoted to corporal. I have also found mention of a Milton Fries in the 8th regiment company B who went in as a private and out as a sargeant.
ATTENTION NON US BIDDERS/BUYER!! PAYPAL only to confirmed address only. I WILL NOT falsify customs forms so don't ask. I only ship via PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL. Insurance is available to some countries, but not all. FREE SHIPPING TO US ONLY!! US SALES AND SHIPPING. I AM ALWAYS HAPPY TO COMBINE TO SAVE ON SHIPPING!! Insurance is available and highly recommended. The insurance is in your name. . It is your responsibility to file a claim in case of damage or loss. I keep all insurance slips until I hear that you have got your item. I ship the day I get your payment, except on Fridays & Saturdays. I leave feedback when I hear that you have received your item. ASK ANY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS BEFORE THE AUCTION ENDS, not afterward. Nearly everything I sell is old and there could be some minor age related wear. Any major damage will be noted. BID NOW to avoid snipers at the end of the auction. I NEVER end a auction early to sell off ebay. Never a reserve. I do turn non paying/non responsive buyers into ebay and they get a negative. If you buy something and run out of money just let me know. I am usually easy to deal with.
