ANTIQUE/VINTAGE WOOD, BUTTERFLY WINGS AND GLASS DECORATIVE TRAY
I found this gorgeous tray in my grandfathers attic. I didn't know anything about it, so I did a little research online. I believe that it is from the 1920's, and is most likely from Brazil, or possibly England. The wings are definitely from South America, and the wood is possibly some kind of exotic Brazilian hardwood. The genuine butterfly wings were painstakingly arranged in a beautiful pattern. The iridescent wings are still very shiny and bright; they shine in tones of blue, purple, and green. The colors change depending on what angle you are viewing the tray from. Measures 15" by 10". There are four small feet on the base of the tray. In very good to excellent vintage condition; there is one small dent to one side of the tray, but it is barely noticeable and it does not detract from the beauty of the piece. There is also some aging of the wood finish, but again, it really doesn't affect the beauty of this unique item!
