Very Rare 1c U.S. penny
"SERV-A-LITE" coin-operated lighter fluid dispenser made by SERV-A-LITER
Co. Indianapolis, IND. In great
condition as partially restored, top has been re-painted a nice red, and
a clear glass cylinder has been painted, I could not find a comparable
example in this format, and there is now a gold mesh surrounding the
cylinder. The base is original
including the bottom, and the brass lever works with nice return when a penny
is deposited. The Company nameplate is
wonderful and original, similar to fired enamel at the top, lightly
cleaned. The lock is also original,
however the key is missing.
This dates 1930-50s.
Very large, 18.5 in. tall, 7.25 in. round base. Est. $150-250.
I would consider this
dispenser very rare in any condition, unusual gas station item for your coin
operated or automobile collection.

of great COIN-OPS and GUMBALL Machines up - more porcelain and earlier Coin-ops
will be auctioned on Ebay, please see my other auctions. -- 3bead –
