Roycroft Old Copper Stamp Box Vintage Arts & Crafts
An old copper Roycroft hinged stamp box measuring 4" long by about 2 3/4" wide by slightly over 1" tall. Marked on the bottom with the early Roycroft mark ..... see our fifth and sixth photos.
Excellent condition. Nice old original patina.
On the hinged (back) side the corners flare up slightly. There is also a sort of flared design that hangs over the edge of the box a little more than the side in the front ..... see our fifth photo.
For reference and a similar example see the book "More Roycroft Art Metal" by McConnell, page 75. The author refers to the stamp box as "scarce".
