Vintage GEORGES BRIARD Mosaic Foil Dish (or tray) made by GLASS GUILD uses the stained glass technique of fitting various sized pieces of colored glass into a mosaic pattern with "lead" seams. Under the glass is crinkled foil, adding texture to the design. The backing is a brass-colored metal. 8-1/2" X 5-3/4" X 3/4".
Georges Briard immigrated from the Ukraine in 1937. He was an award-winning designer of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, best known for his work in glass. His designs were sold through stores like Nieman Marcus. In 2004, he won a lifetime achievement award for his contributions to the glass and ceramic decorating industry.
Condition: Excellent pre-owned vintage condition. Clean. Top is perfect. Bottom has some normal use scratches from being on a table.
Age: Circa 1950s.

FAST SHIPPING.
A word about packing and shipping: We have allowed for box size that will provide adequate protection, as well as for sufficient packing materials. We use both bubble wrap, which we tape into place, as well as peanuts for cushioning. USPS raised rates A LOT in May, especially for packages going from one end of the country to the other. We are located in Wilmington, Delaware, which is almost as east as you can get, so you may see a higher shipping cost if you live in California. We usually offer 3 shipping choices, because the rate that is most economical for you now depends on a complex combination of distance plus package weight AND dimensions. If the real cost is more than the estimated cost, we do refund the difference. Please check our feedback, and see what people say about our packing.
