can I say, these are very simply the fastest road wheels that you are going to
find. Literally, it feels like cheating when you ride these.
These are in good condition. The Campagnolo freehub was replaced in July and has
been in 4 races since. Both wheels are straight and true. The rear was rebuilt
with a new rim by Zipp in 2007. The front has more miles, though not many.
These wheels were only used in select races, never in rain and they were never
crashed. Dedicated Yellow Swiss Stop pads were always used with these and the
braking surfaces show no wear.
I am including tires with the sale. The front has a Vredestein Tricomp that has
about 500 miles on it. It needs a reglue before riding it. The rear has a
Continental Sprinter that is basically brand new with a fine glue job (August
2008). Also, you get valve extenders, Zipp in the front and in the back a trick
Bontrager one where you can screw in a new valve core, so that you don't need
to stick a spoke down the valve extender to let air out.
The only problem is that the decals on the front wheel are slightly
discoloured. You probably can't make it out in the photos, instead of white,
they are off white. You can easily replace them, though I saw no reason too.
These wheels have been babied. I always transported them in wheel bags and stored them properly. They were shop serviced over their entire lifetime. I would love to keep these, but my team is sponsored by Edge, so, sadly, there is no place for these great wheels.
