Up for auction is an authentic WWII relic: German Death Head ring found nearby the Russian city of Volgograd, former Stalingrad, site of the greatest battle in history!
Since ancient times this pattern - skull and crossed bones - was very popular among the German warriors (and particularly in the armored or panzer units during the World War II) as a symbol of bravery, self-sacrifice and disdain towards eventual death in combat. Notwithstanding its age (65+ years after all) this silver ring is in a good shape - absolutely no damage, just some oxydation - because it was found in a former German bunker at Gumrak, one of the two main German airbases in the Stalingrad area and also HQ of the 6th Army late in 1942. The ring is approximately 20mm in diameter (1" = 25.4mm). No markings here, probably made to a private order. An awesome addition to every WW2 collection, brought to you from the worldwide-famous battlefields!
Attn. eBay Staff: As seen on the pictures, this historic item does NOT portray any offensive symbols, thus being in full compliance with eBay rules and policy. Furthermore, the Artifacts Policy is not applicable, because this ring has been recovered in a foreign country, Russia. Anyway, I won't ship this item to countries where it may be banned by local laws or regulations, so please don't remove this listing "in error" - only to reinstate it later like it happened with a similar ring a while ago. Also, please note that this item is NOT associated with human remains.
