Beautiful machine and ready for years and years of use. The Power Supply was just rebuilt and as many operators know, they tend to fail on these. She's set on freeplay and ready too go for your home gameroom or route. Check out the pictures as it does not get much better than this. Just walk up and hit the start button! High scores on all games are saved and eraseable down the road if you want too.
It's got a few touchups on the sides and front, whomever did it sure knew what they were doing as it looks great. Non factory upgrade items installed are the new buttons on the control panel, Excellent yellow t-molding, brand spankin monitor and a new lock for the door.
It's very modular and easy to work on if service is ever needed, and everything is easily accessable from the back door. You can leave her on all the time (as with any arcade game most were) and it will scroll through the attract mode. I set the attract mode sound to silent so it will make no noise unless someones playing it. You'll thank me for that :')
Defend the human population from swarms of attacking aliens. Extremely popular even though it was deemed a flop at a 1981 Chicago arcade machine trade show because of its difficulty. The attract mode for the game was programmed in just five hours.
The machine shown at the top of the page is the classic cabinet that the majority of US players have seen. The machine to the right, however, is believed to be a prototype (or an early production model) that contains side art very much inspired by the film "Star Wars". Perhaps Williams changed the production side art designs upon advice from legal counsel? This type of machine is also pictured on Williams' Defender flyers. Oddly enough, a number of these machines have been seen in various countries throughout Europe.
Your mission, as captain of the Defender, is to protect the humanoids stranded on the planet from their alien abductors. The scanner will help you determine a strategy to shoot down the alien ships before they reach the humanoids. If you destroy the aliens after they have captured their prey, you must return the humanoids to the safety of the planet or they will fall to their death. If an alien carries its victim out of your range, the humanoid will mutate, join the alien force, and take to assault with deadly vengeance!
The challenge becomes ever more intense as the action progresses. Fighter ships (Bombers) and mines will test your skills. A direct hit will destroy the mother ship (Pods) but smash it into a swarming mass of mini-ships (Swarmers) which then must be wiped out! If you do not act quickly, the cosmic Baiter will attack! Use your two escape options only if all else fails! Your "smart bomb" power is limited and "hyperspace" puts you into an unknown space warp. But beware! If all the humanoids are abducted, the entire planet will explode in a blinding flash!

That's alot cheaper than what others offer on Ebay. Don't get hooked by those that say it varies between $100 and $400 or just charge the "prep" fee right up front as if you don't get a firm quote up front they will hit you for the highest price. In some case there may be nothing you can do about it (I know, it's happened to me before except my shipping bill was $600+ COD) The $100 price is only if you live in the same city as them. No one should ever have to pay $300+ for shipping unless it's a HUGE arcade game. Others break it down into 3 diffrent charges like delivery, crating and the shipping, collectively costing over $200 just to get it to the shipper. Then you have to pay the shipping!!! I put my shipping charges where my mouth is and you will not pay more than $179 no matter how much more it is. I don't make a dime on shipping but I average it out and pass the cheaper cost on to you. Anyone can get you home delivery but it's the principal of costs and since your paying I guess they don't care. We at Trentoncoin know your paying and work VERY hard to keep costs down, All you pay is the flat rate of $179 for PREP AND DELIVERY to your nearest terminal. Home delivery is up to you as our shipper DOES offer it and you can contact them when the game arrives to get it brought to you house if you like. We use UPS Freight Systems for shipment of heavy items. They are a huge LTL carrier and have terminals at or near 99% of major cities and airports. Thier website is (www.upsfreight.com) and they have online tracking of your shipment as well as locations of all of thier terminals. We have a 70% discount with them to futher save or buyers on shipping costs. For a flat rate of $90 we will prep and drop off at your carrier of choice if you want someone other than what we use - (located within 15 miles of 48183 zip code) if you have your own shipper with a discount. I am a FREAK about how I ship stuff so you will not be dis-appointed. Everything gets wrapped in plastic, cardborded, secured with heavy duty ratchet straps and taped.
