This microscope which dates from the mid to late 1800's is of all brass construction and is in very good optical, mechanical, and cosmetic condition retaining its original livery with blemishes and spotting. It has a triangular foot and hinged stand with peg & slots for adjusting the angle of inclination. It is engraved R & J Beck 14798 London. The cylindrical column is fitted with rack & pinion for coarse focusing and micrometer screw with calibrated millhead for fine focusing. Both work well. The Wenham binocular tube is fitted with rackwork for eye separation. The Wenham prism is excellent. The circular rotating stage has a clamp screw and a captive slide stage with a mount for forceps. Underneath the stage there is a circle of stops and a good concave mirror. There are two matched pairs of unmarked top hat eyepieces and five objectives in various condition as follows: R&J Beck 1/4 with correction collar and matching can; R&J Beck 2/3 with dual magnification sleeve but no lenses, matching can,; R&J Beck 2 in with matching can; an unmarked lens with H.Crouch can; an E.Leitz Wetzlar 1/12 Oel Immersion with matching can. The fine quality mahogany case has a slide tray and an accessory tray. It measures 16 x 6 x 7.5 inches (410 x 150 x 190 mm) and weighs 5.8 kg. Shipping & Handling
For smaller items (up to 2 kg) I use Royal Mail First Class Signed For or Royal Mail Airmail (small package) service at the published rates. For domestic deliveries of small heavier items items I use Royal Mail Parcel service at the published rates. For everything else I use Parcelforce 48, Euro 48, and International Standard services at the published rates, less my contract discount. In all cases there is a small charge for packaging materials.
