Up for auction are 5 decks of vintage 1930-40s KEM playing cards in black plastic cases:
• 2 complete straight decks of new old stock new KEM playing cards, copyright 1935 by Kem Plastic Playing Cards, Inc. – this information is on the black spade cards. There is one Joker with each deck. The motif on the outside of the cards is Japanese with brown background on one deck and blue background on the other deck. The 2 decks come in a black plastic case with KEM – KEM PLASTIC PLAYING CARDS on the top lid and KEM PLASTIC PLAYING CARDS, INC. New York Made in U.S.A. and KEM REG. U. S. PAT. OFF. on the bottom of case. There is a KEM divider in the center of the case inside, please check pictures.
• 2 complete straight decks of new old stock KEM playing cards, copyright 1935 by Kem Plastic Playing Cards, Inc. – this information is on the black spade cards. There is an order card for replacements included with these decks and has copyright 1947 KEM PLASTIC PLAYING CARDS, INC. Also are 2 inspected by No. 545 papers with the decks of cards. There are two Jokers with each deck. The motif on the outside of the cards is blocks with assorted browns, gold and green background on one deck and assorted blues and greens background on the other deck. The 2 decks come in a black plastic case with KEM – KEM PLASTIC PLAYING CARDS on the top lid and KEM PLASTIC PLAYING CARDS, INC. New York Made in U.S.A. and KEM REG. U. S. PAT. OFF. on the bottom of case.
• 1 complete straight deck of slightly used playing cards (but in good condition), no date on these cards or case. The black ace of spade has Stardust St. Paul, Minn. U.S.A. Standard Packaging Corporation. There is no Joker with this deck. The motif on the back of the cards has an old gun with powder horn and tool. The cards come in a single back plastic case marked KEM Pinochle – cards and case DO NOT match but will be used for shipping.
