You are bidding on a totally original late 1940's issue 55J14 U.S. Navy flight jacket. This is the first issue of the now famous G-1 leather jacket, and considered by most the best made and most desirable of this type. This jacket is made by Star Sportswear, their first run of the G-1 type, and as is typical for Star's the goatskin is beautiful! There is a lot of surface flaking, the worst areas are show in the photos. There is also a very tiny hole in the back just above the yellow line that can easily be left alone or patched from the inside. The jacket is totally original, no patches removed and no repairs done. The waistband is in excellent condition, only one cuff in need of some repair, as shown but no need for replacement. The zipper is original, and a rare triple marked Conmar that works flawlessly. The mouton collar is in great condition as shown, a beautiful honey color. The size tag is faded, appears to be a size 40, but please use the measurements shown as these jackets all varied in fit. The liner is in perfect condition, with no tears, or splits anywhere. A completely wearable very rare Star 55J14 from the Korean war era.
