Up for auction is this new in the box Black Forest Musical/Animated Cuckoo Clock made by Schwarzwalder Uhren of Germany. The clock is 11 ½ inches high, 11 ½ inches wide and 6 inches deep. It has a one day movement so you must pull the chains up once a day. This cuckoo clock is a collection by itself, with the following animations, on the balcony above the clock dial there is a carousel with four colorful Bavarian Mountain dancers that go around and in and out of the clock case as the music plays. Then on the bottom platform on the right side there is a Bavarian beer drinker sitting at a table that lifts his beer mug as the cuckoo bird counts the hour or half hour. Then on the left side of the bottom platform there is a water wheel that also goes around as the music plays. So this clock really puts a show on for you. Also on the bottom platform there is a great carving of a German Sheppard dog in the center and a carving of a deer on the left side of the bottom platform that is drinking water at the well and water wheel. There is also a nice carving of a colorful Christmas tree on the right side of the bottom platform.
This clock also features a night shut off lever if you choose not to listen to the cuckoo/music during the night hours or if you want to silent the clock for guests. The music box on this clock is Swiss made
I find no documentation anywhere as to the year that this clock was produced. There is the original instruction paper work included. If you check the following photos you can see that this clock has never been run, in photo #8 of the movement, it shows the original pull out tabs still on the bellow tops, they have never been removed, also check in the same photo how bright the chains are. In photo #9 of the bottom of the clock, it shows that the chains are still wrapped in the original paper and tied off as it was when it left the factory in Germany. Another sign that this clock was never out of the box is that it is dust free, so when you receive this clock you will not have to clean it up, just hang it up and enjoy it.
A short note for you collectors out there that also collect the original boxes, I put in two photos showing one side of the original box with the name Schwarzwalder Uhren and on the other side of the box you have a colorful picture of a Bavarian Mountain Chalet scene showing eight Bavarian’s in there native dress. I will put the original box inside a larger box for shipping so the original box will look as good as it does in the photos when you receive it.
