Up for auction is a very nice Seeburg Wall-O-Matic 160 jukebox music selector, model S-3W160, as seen in diners and restaurants in 'those golden years gone by'. . .
This unit is very clean inside and out, and, although I am not an expert, appears to be mechanically and electrically complete. (Please note that I have no way to verify it's operation -- buyer is on his own for that.) As shown in the photos, the wiring appears to have been carefully disconnected and coiled up, not cut or ripped out, as so often happens.
This Wall-O-Matic is complete with two original Seeburg keys and coin box. The glass is perfect. The chrome has some pitting on most surfaces, but overall shows very well. The buttons are clean and unstained and all work. The song selection leaves all work and are nearly all preprinted with '60s/'70s tunes; a few song selections are hand- or typewritten.
Please note that this unit is heavy -- 32 lb. without packing, so shipping will be a bit pricey.
This is a no reserve auction. Please email me with any questions, including shipping and insurance preferences. Non-US buyers contact me for shipping cost before payment. Full payment via PayPal is expected within 5 days of auction close.
Look at the photos again -- you'll look long and hard to find a Wall-O-Matic in this nice condition!
Thanks for looking!
On Nov-24-08 at 08:16:51 PST, seller added the following information:Update: In response to several inquiries, I want to clarify that this unit is NOT a functioning music player. It's NOT a jukebox; it's a remote jukebox music selector. It's a non-functional museum piece that represents a piece of American history from the 1950s to the 1970s. It is a piece of memoribilia that might sit on a shelf in your rec room or as decoration in a 1950s theme restaurant, museum or garage.
Unless you're prepared to completely gut the unit and install modern electronics, the only way to make this unit function would be to connect it to a vintage Seeburg jukebox, which is what actually plays the music; these jukeboxes are available from time to time on eBay.
Hope this helps. Please email me with any further questions. Thanks.
