This is a beautiful Italian-made steel road racing frame made by Giordana. The model is Scorpius, but is the same specifications as their Eco model. The frame is made with the famous French-made Excell tubing, except the fork, which is made with Columbus tubing. This tubing was praised by many of the great frame builders. Here's a link to information on this frame (see the Eco model) http://www.bikyle.com/GiordanaFrm.asp
The chain stay is chrome. There are braze ons for two water bottle cages, front derailleur, pump peg, and chain holder on the right seat stay. The frame comes with a Shimano Ultegra headset (threaded 1") that has no pitting and turns smoothly. I recently removed a Campagnolo bottom bracket (Italian threads) and it came out cleanly.
There are no major dents, and the frame is aligned. This has been hanging in my basement for a number of years. I was the original owner, purchased in 1995, and remember it got about 3 years of use before being retired. I take very good care of all my bikes, including this one. There are a few chips in the finish. I've tried to capture the biggest ones in the pictures. No rust spots. There are horizontal dropouts, so would be a classy fixed gear project. The dropouts are missing the set screws.
The dimensions of the frame are (center to center):
Seat Tube: 54cm Top Tube: 54.8 Seat Tube Angle: 73.2 Head Tube Angle: 73.3
Rear spacing is 130mm.
I've packaged several bikes and frames over the years, always with excellent results (check feedback).
Happy bidding!!!
