Wynter 2008 is a dreamy, Peaceful angel, all in cream and gold. I love this style of doll, and may make her a recurring character every year - each one a bit different, of course.
Wynter is currently featured in Art Doll Quarterly Winter 2009!
She's been to California and back, and is now ready for a new home.
She will come to you with a signed copy of this Collectors' Magazine showcasing Wynter and two other dolls I created especially for this publication.
She was sewn of muslin and hand-painted Little *Dollings style... she's adorned with a sprinkling of fairy dust on eyelids and cheeks.
Her curls are painted all 'round her angelic little head, outlined by the trim of her cap.
A peaceful Winter white bird rests on her arm - permanently attached.
Wynter's bodice, cap and sleeves are painted and generously covered in Mica Flakes. She wears 6 gold glittered beads for buttons.
Her wings are leaves I cut from taffeta, wired and covered them in crushed glass and gold glitter.
Wynter's dress is a cascade of curls, over a flowing skirt of Ivory chiffon.
These wired ribbons are two layers: the first, gold glittered 'scrunched' taffeta ---the second, a patterned creamy white and gold.
The curls will require a little adjusting, but it's easy - and for storage, they can be curled up, held with a clip, and uncurled again later.
An 'Icy' Winter wreath was fashioned from faux twigs. It's wired to her arm.
Built on an antique beehive bobbin (painted Ivory) this doll is 22 inches tall.
Gold netting, eyelash trim, and mica flakes add lots of sparkle to this elegant dolling!
Wynter will add much charm to your doll collection, and will definitely brighten your Winter season for years to come!
