I've had this since the mid-1980's after receiving it from my father who had it since sometime in the 1960's. And I do not know where he obtained it. I do not know a whole lot about oyster tins except for the few times I've looked on here so, if you have any questions, just ask. This tin is obviously in "used" condition and has a few small dents and knicks and a little surface rust on the lid but I really don't think it's in that bad of shape considering how long it's been around. I tried to include photos of all sides, including the insides, to help you out. I have done nothing more than wipe it off with a damp rag.
The printing on the tin reads, "The Oyster You Love To Eat Maryland Beauty Brand Raw Oysters Fresh From The Shell For Discriminating People Contents 1-Gallon Net The Famous Maryland Beauty Brand Raw Oysters Packed Fresh From The Shell For Discriminating People By R.E. Roberts Co. Inc. Baltimore, M.D. Keep Iced MD 17." On the lid, it reads, "Extra Standards Keep Well Iced." There is no printing on the bottom of the tin nor is there any rust. The original bail is attached and in good shape.
As I said, if you have any questions, simply ask. Thank you.
