Lanier Meaders Southern Folk Pottery ROCKTOOTH Face Jug

Here is an awesome rocktooth by Lanier!! It was made in the EARLY 70's!! Yes, there are ways of knowing!! Lanier started waxing the eyes and teeth around 1974. This one has glazed over eyes and teeth!! Lanier used a darker clay which caused this one to burn out almost black!! It also has a frogskin glaze which Lanier didn't do too often!! Lanier was playing around with this one and put in one black tooth!! This is also something he did very seldom!! If you've been waiting around for that perfect Lanier you might want to give this one a close look!! It's signed, perfect and measures 9 1/2 inches!! Thanks so much........
