A few years ago I bought a large vintage lot of pens from a longtime collector who was meticulous about his pens, nibs, and restoring them to functional status. Over the next few days, I am attempting to list the remainder of that collection both individually and as lots. I am not a pen person so I cannot speak to the functionality of each individual pen, (I can however, test pencils!), but I will attempt to describe them as accurately as possible with multiple close up shots.
You are looking at an original Parkerette Parker pen in a red-gray-black color pattern. I have put the two close up pictures of the Parkerette logo first as they most accurately represent the color scheme. For some reason, the darker grays look a little too green in the other pictures. This pen is approx. 4.75" in length and has no obvious cracks. There appears to be a slight amount of surface wear, here and there in the form of tiny scratches only noticeable under magnification. There is one area of roughness in the finish where it appears to be through the plastic on the barrel appox. 1/8" in length near the filler hole. A bit of wear on the clasp near the top visible in pictures. The nib reads Parkerette Made in USA 45. I assume it is 24k gold. Some aging/scratches on the metal as seen in the closeup.
Overall, a beautiful piece of history which has held up nicely over time. This would make an excellent addition to your collection.
