This not a reproduction but an original photograph printed or, or near, the date indicated using the albumen photographic process. The photograper is Fleix Beato and is published as such in the Japanese Anthology of his work Volume 1, Pg. 161. Approximate measurement of the image: 8" (w) X 10" (h) OR 20.32 (w) X 25.4 cm (h).

CONDITION: Very Good to Excellent. No tears, rips or repairs, folds or creases. Some minor fading and/or loss of clarity. Subtle and detailed hand coloring with some color shift in the red. This photograph has been removed from the image it backed, without damage, but the image does remain affixed to its original mounting paper. The scan accurately relfects the condition of this photograph.
SUBJECT MATTER: Studio Portrait of two pilgrims taken by Felix Beato. These people are pilgrim beggars called "Hachitataki ". They chanted from the scriptures in front of houses in priestly vestments and begged while ringing bells hanging in front of their stomachs.

SHIPPING: We ship via Unites States Postal Service (USPS), first class, on a bi-weekly basis. International purchases are sent via USPS airmail (5-7 days). Our Fixed-rate domestic and international fees include the cost of custom packaging and postage but does include shipping insurance. All items shall be sent uninsured, unless insurance is requested by the buyer who shall pay the additional shipping insurance costs.
