You are looking at one beautiful Norfolk & Western Centennial 38 plate. A multicolored pattern used in all Norfolk & Western dining cars starting in 1938. The design presents in a very unique way the development of N & W's Locomotives from the small woodburner of the City Point Railroad to the behemoths of '38. The Plate contains a total of eleven colors applied by the lithographic transfer process. Manufactured by Lamberton Scammel with a full stamp on back of plate. Plate is 10 1/2' in size. This is one of the rarest service plates of Railroad Heritage and a must for the serious Railroad china collector. Plate is in very good condition. This Plate has some small scratches in the middle area and a couple can be seen in photo 5 and 6. They are hard to see just looking at the plate but are mentioned here for complete description of condition. I have seen five or six of this particular plate at train shows and have never seen one without a scratch. Shipping Insurance is required on this item.
