This auction is for a very rare strand of Neolithic beads. These beads were found in the Sahara Region of Northern Africa. An exact age is unknown, but the “New Stone Age” began about 10,000 B.C. There are estimates that this piece is from that period, and other estimates that it would date between 6,000 – 3,000 years old. This strand is made up of primarily Agate and carnelian beads in a variety of reds and browns. Each bead has been hand shaped and drilled. Some estimates theorize that just one bead could take an entire day to create. The entire 36-inch strand with over 110 hand made beads is being offered here for the price of just a few loose beads you will find in other auctions and web sites.  

The strand measures approximately 36 inches long and has over 100 individual stone beads. This is a wonderful piece to add to any collection or to start a collection.
