Frequently Asked
Questions
How are the photographs made?
We use Epson's K3 photo lab
technology. This method of developing is quickly becoming the
standard with professional photographers for black & white
images. This technology produces an exhibition quality print
that has truly neutral tones and stunning depth and clarity that
even rivals traditional silver halide prints.
Is the resolution
disappointing?
No, is the simple answer. Because
we are dealing with historical photographs from a wide range of
regions, creators and time periods, there is variation in the
quality. However, we always ask ourselves if we would be pleased
with a particular image framed and on display before we add it
to our inventory. We do not carry low-quality "snapshots," cheap
digital scans or multi-generational prints.
Are the photographs in the
public domain?
Many of the images are available
for use as public domain images. Some of the images can be
licensed for limited commercial use and some are restricted for
all commercial activities. If you would like more information
about a particular image, email us.
Will the watermark/writing
appear on the photograph I receive?
No. The writing on the internet
image of the photograph is to discourage copying and will not
appear on your photograph.
Do you offer framing?
Yes, we have a full service frame
shop in Portland Oregon and have been framing and safely
shipping pieces for our ebay customers since 2006. For framing

How are the photographs
shipped?
8" by 10"s are shipped in a
plastic sleeve and flat, stiff mailer via USPS first class mail.
Enlargements are placed in a plastic sleeve and then into a
rigid tube that is of a larger diameter than the sleeve. This
ensures that an impact to the tube will not be transferred to
the image. Enlargements may ship via USPS, Fedex or UPS.
How do you ship international
packages?
International packages are
shipped via First Class International, with the only exception
being maps and enlargements of 36" or more. Those items ship via
Global Priority. Please note that international delivery time
varies greatly depending on how much time the receiving
country's postal service takes to process the package through
customs. In recent months we have seen delays in excess of 5
weeks. We can provide you with the customs declaration number in
order to make a local inquiry about your package.
Is this available in a
larger/smaller size.
Yes. For smaller sizes, email us
at .
Larger sizes can be obtained by purchasing the photograph
listing and also purchasing an "Enlargement
Option" from our
eBay store. |
