Abraham Lincoln Postcard - Presenting the Proclamation of Freedom to a Slave! Posted in 1910! Published by the International Art Publishing Company, New York, New York and Berlin, Germany, and copyrighted in 1908, this very beautiful card features a likeness of President Abraham Lincoln in the form of a bronze statue with a kneeling slave at his feet. Benneath that is an unfurled ribbon on which is printed, "Abraham lincoln - Presenting the proclamation of Freedom to a Slave". To the right of that is a woman, presumably an angel, stainding holding a shield with an American banner emblazoned on it in her left hand and an American wind socket on a pole in the right hand. She has the aura of a halo behind her. In the top left corner is an American eagle perched atop and American banner with arrows clenched in its claws. Beneath that is a flowing white ribbon with the word "Liberty" printed on it. The International copyright is printed in the lower right corner. Printed in pen in period cursive at the top right of the card is the date "1910" and the initials "XWR". The reverse of the card indicates it has been postally used and bears a postmark of Feb 11, 1910. It also carries a cancelled U.S. Postage one-cent stamp as well as being addressed, with a personal message, written pen in period cursive. The International logo is printed in the top left corner. The series number 51658 is printed in the lower left margin. The card is in very good condition with no evidence of corner wear, creasing or staining and will be mailed in a rigid plastic holder.
