Abraham Lincoln Postcard - Lincoln's Advice on Getting Through Life! Published by M.T. Sheahan, Boston, Mass., and copyrighted in 1908, this very nice card features a photographic likeness of President Abraham Lincoln in an oval portrait frame, ringed in red and gold-embossing, at the top center of the card. Just to the bottom left of the frame is printed, "A sensible way to live". printed to the lower right of the frame is, "By a man who knew". Beneath that, on the lower two/thirds of the card is, "Do not worry; Eat three square meals a day; Say your prayers; Be courteous to you creditors; Keep your digestion good; Exercise; Go slow and go eas. May be there are other things that your special case requires, to make you happy, but, my friend, these I reckon, will give you a good lift". The Sheahan copyright is printed in the lower left corner. A continuation of the message on the reverse of the card is written in the margins of the front. The reverse of the card indicates it has been postally used and bears a postmark of March 4, 1910. It also carries a cancelled U.S. Postage one-cent stamp as well as a personal message written in pencil and ink in period cursive. The maker's mark is printed at the top center and in the top left corner is a representation of Lincoln's Home in Springfield, Illinois. The series number 337 is printed in the left margin. The card is in very good condition with no evidence of corner wear, creasing or staining and will be mailed in a rigid plastic holder.
