Up for auction this awesome BOYCE
Moto-Meter temperature gauge hood ornament, manufactured for the NASH Motor
Company and showing patent date range from 1913 to 1918. Complete thermometer on one side, with user
recommendations per various temperatures, and the manufacturer’s (Boyce
Motor-Meter Co., Long Island, N.Y.) and Auto Company’s (Nash Motor Co., Kenosha,
Wisconsin), names on the other side; glass is
in great condition save minor chipping on only one side, but no cracks or
gouges; gaskets and backing are worn or shifted (after all, it is over 80 years
old); metal fastening hinge and latch are cracked; case is in good tight condition;
please see photos. Dial is approximately
3 inches in diameter and the ornament is approximately 5-1/2 inches tall. Do not pass on the chance to add this item to
your valuable collection or to finally complete that long overdue restoration.
