There doesn't seem to be a category for vaudeville memorabilia! Among the boxes of vintage paper goods my husband just brought home from his latest treasure hunt at PawPaw's house, I found this:
A collection of memorabilia from the vaudeville circuit, including programs, flyers, photographs ... over two pounds in all! Most items are in very good condition ... a few have some damage. The dates range from 1917 through the 1920's ... most of the programs have multiple copies ...
There are several unidentified snapshots, most with multiple copies ... and a 1" stack of postcards advertising the McDonald Trio ... all unused.
There's a large paper flyer, 11 by 29 inches, advertising the Circle Comedy Four and Kangaroo Boxing ... two applications to join the National Vaudeville Artists, 1587 Broadway, New York ...
The photos are just a sampling ... there's much more! Please feel free to contact me if you have specific questions!
I will send you an invoice at the end of the auction ...
We accept PayPal, cashier's check or money order, or personal checks. If you are bidding on other open auctions, just let me know and I will happily wait to combine shipping, for any other items that are listed at the time of your win ...
My goal is to ship within 24 hours of receiving your payment. Your item will be as carefully packaged as I can manage. Your shipping fees will be calculated by the USPS based on weight and size, and a small handling charge will be added to cover the cost of shipping supplies.
Our policy is ... your complete satisfaction with our transaction. Please feel free to communicate with me about any questions you have while bidding or after your purchase.
PawPaw is my 86-year-old father-in-law. PawPaw and his wife Mimi were antique dealers in northern Illinois for years, and have been collectors of almost every kind of historical memorabilia since shortly after World War II. If they thought something would have value some day, they hauled it home and saved it. PawPaw has always said that was his retirement account. I tell him he was just sitting around waiting for eBay to be invented!
After Mimi passed away in 2005, PawPaw decided it was time to start sharing his treasures with others, and he has entrusted me with listing them. All our auctions begin at $.99 ... you decide the value! We appreciate your interest in our auctions!
I am not a dealer, a collector, or an expert, but I do try to describe each of PawPaw's items carefully and fully and to take good photos. If you have any questions about any item listed, please feel free to ask, and I will do my best to find the answer for you.
