This is a gorgeous RARE vintage set of 3 laminated English Art Deco METAL graduated flying wall SWALLOWS with ORIGINAL BOX! The birds are modelled in a classic Art Deco design.
The castings are sturdy and of excellent quality and all original metal hanging rings still intact. The laminated colours are still in great condition - nice and bright and colourful - as with most of these laminated metal items there are a few very minor age-related dings to the laminated colour here and there as can be seen in the picture - nothing too serious, and this just adds to their quaint old charm! The box is in great condition for age, still sturdy and without any tearing or major damage.
Sizes are approx 11.5cm and 10cm. All birds are beautifully hallmarked on the back with Registered design numbers, and PKDE which I suspect stands for 'PARKSIDE' - the English factory responsible for many Art Deco metal cast wall birds.
This is a 'must have' set for the retro Art Deco kitchen decor! Quite rare and hard to get - I don't see them too often in this colour.
