Up for auction is the 2008 Breyerfest Volunteer model. This model was only given to volunteers at
this years Breyerfest (I taught a workshop).
This is a very limited run, though I do not know exact numbers (It would
be safe to say under 100). This model
does come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Done on the Traditional scale Breyer Indian mold, she is a glossy deep
dappled bay tobiano. Her markings are
not mapped but she is still lovely.
About the condition
of the horse: I do not collect or
show OFs. However, there are a few
things on this horse that I personally see as flaws. Some of the stuff I managed to get off with
just a moist q-tip. Some of it appears
under the gloss coat though. Of the
variety of issues I see a few specks here and there, a hair or two under the
gloss coat, what looks like a speck on the hip that paint was missed (but it
has gloss over it), a few beige and black small blemishes on the legs and a
couple of black specks on the snip. She
also has a couple of paint runs (appears to be the gloss) and some areas on a
front hoof that appear rubbed but are under the glossy finish. Again, I tried to wipe what I could off, but
I dare not do anything else as I don’t want to damage the OF finish. It is
these flaws that are the reason she is priced so low. I have tried to photograph the flaws as best
as I could, but it is difficult to photograph these glossy horses. She is exactly how I received her from Breyer
(except for the blemishes that rubbed off).
If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me. Though I have tried to document all of the
flaws there may be a few that I missed or did not show up in photos. On
some of the close up photos I have darkened it considerably so that you could
see the flaws through the gloss. The
first series of photos more accurately shows the color of the horse. I have tried to photoshop in some arrows to
point out the flaws I see.
The following show the horse’s color to the best of my
ability.
The rest of the photos highlight the flaws. There were a couple of hairs in the finish
that I simply could not get to show up in photographs and I apologize.
