We are very pleased to offer this rare and large historical bottle made by Samuel Huffsey. This bottle came out of the important personal collection of J. Welles Henderson, the author of the maritime antiques book "Jack Tar, A sailors life, 1750-1910".
The bottle is very large in size standing 9.25 inches tall. On one side is a portrait titled "Louis Kossuth" with flags under him. On the other side of the bottom is the embossed US Steam Frigate Mississippi with the name S. Huffsey under it. The base of the bottle has a wonderful improved pontil and the embossed name of the mold maker.
Condition of the bottle is superb as can be seen in the pictures. It has a nice aqua color and really does not have much if any cloudiness. There are no cracks or chips that we could find at all to the glass. The only thing we found is a very, very, small rough spot on the lip that could of been done in the making.
