Rare Antique Primitive ORIENTAL CARVED WOOD WALL HANGINGS Exquisite Details w/Gold Gilt ANCIENT ROYALTY MUST SEE!!
This is an auction for a Pair of VERY RARE AND UNUSUAL, VERY OLD CARVED ORIENTAL PIECES. These two pieces were acquired from a wonderful estate of an elderly man who had inherited exquisite pieces from his deceased very wealthy mother and grandparents, who had traveled the world buying exquisite treasures during the late 1700's, 1800's and early 1900's.
These two pieces were carved out of one piece of wood and are VERY PRIMITIVE. The detail of these carvings is unbelieveable!! The scenes are of what I believe to be Ancient Royalty. Look closely to see all of the exquisite details of these pieces. There is still some remnants of gold gilt on them. I have researched the pieces quite extensively, but have found no other carvings like them. SO IF ANYONE CAN GIVE ME INFORMATION ON THEM, PLEASE EMAIL ME AS I WOULD GREAT APPRECIATE IT!!
Each piece measures approximately 8 1/2 x 11. One of the pieces appears to have more age on it and the outside frame is much more worn, but the carving itself is in great condition with just a little more fading to the red paint and maybe more of the gold gilt gone. Also, part of the left-hand outside edge of the flat frame part on this piece is missing, but it does not affect the carving itself, just the outside edge of the frame. I do not see any broken pieces on the carvings themselves. They both seem to be in great aged condition. I believe the brass oriental hangers were attached at a much later date as they look much newer than the carvings. Someone has attached these hangers to the pieces so that they can be hung on the wall.
